A Hole Is

a Hole

London Performance Studios presented A Hole Is a Hole, a solo performance by Lily McMenamy. Drawing on the arts of clowning, mime and avant-garde theatre, A Hole Is a Hole explored the construction of the female performer as an endlessly metamorphosing and multiplying vessel.

Staged in front of a mirrored backdrop, A Hole Is a Hole took shape through quickfire vignettes and tableaus, occupying infinite egos, crossing continents, studios, nightclubs and forests in order to stage the subconscious. Travelling through a swarm of personae, the performance asked who is subject to our aesthetic and erotic drives, when the relations between artist and model, monster and maker, are thrown into the blender of one singular body.

A score composed by Felicita accompanied the performance. This presentation was co-produced with Galerie Isabella Bortolozzi. With special thanks to Clown Consultants Peta Lily, Liv Ello and Evie Fehilly.

This event was organised by Lily McMenamy, as part of the Associate Artists Programme.
