Alexander Gallimore and Meeri Aro during their residency at LPS in 2025

Seeding Space is a residency initiative that invites artists to explore an idea for a creative project, offering participants one week of access to our studios with the opportunity to organise a small sharing of their work at the end. Since 2021, this initiative has awarded over 100 free space bursaries to more than 250 artists across most disciplines and formats within visual arts and theatre, though music, dance and movement are excluded due to acoustic and spatial restrictions. The bursaries are specifically aimed at artists who would like to test an idea, so proposals focused on ticketed events will not be considered.

Applications for Seeding Space are currently closed. If you are interested to apply for the next round, sign up to our newsletter or keep an eye out for upcoming announcements.

Seeding Space 2025 is supported by Arts Council England.
