Seeding Space is a one-week residency initiative that invites artists working at the intersection of performance, visual art and theatre to explore and experiment. Hosted onsite at London Performance Studios, the residency offers time, space, feedback, a small seed fund, and the opportunity to share a work in progress.

Since 2021, Seeding Space has awarded over 100 free space residencies to more than 250 artists who work with performance, including in interdisciplinary and expanded forms.

Round 11 of Seeding Space will take place in between 10 - 23 August 2026.

Applications for this round of Seeding Space are now closed.

2026

Offer

→ Six consecutive days of access to a rehearsal studio at London Performance Studios
→ £200 seed funding
→ Optional sharing of a work in progress with invited peers and LPS staff

Eligibility

→  Collaborative proposals are welcomed, but unfortunately we cannot expand the seed fund.
→  The residency is specifically aimed at artists who would like to test an idea, so proposals focused on ticketed events will not be considered.
→  Dance and movement work that requires a sprung floor is not eligible.
→  Artists who have previously been a recipient of a Seeding Space residency are not eligible to apply.

Output

There are no specific expectations of output, as the aim is to support experimentation and artistic development. All successful applicants will be asked to write a short report at the end of their residency.

Application

Applicants are asked to complete an application form with details of their practice, proposed project, and plan for how they will use the space. Equal weight is given to these three points. An EDI form is also included as part of the application form.

LPS recognises the time, energy, and effort that applications take for artists, and try to keep the application process as simple as possible. If you have any questions about the process or any access needs, please get in touch.
