Creating Character

This 2 day workshop will focus on some of the key principles in the technique of renowned actor and director, Michael Chekhov (1891-1955). As well as exploring his radical psycho-physical tools of preparation, we will investigate some of his important characterisation tools. Through play, improvisation and work on the text of Hamlet, we will explore how radical commitment to the imagination can revolutionise the actor’s power to transform and help create original, believable characters.
