Life Acting

A new programme of workshops by Associate Artist Living Pictures exploring how psychology, therapeutic strategies and theatre practices can inform your craft and enhance your wellbeing.

Life Acting explores both artistic practice and personal growth, considering how strategies from both perspectives can be integrated to enhance awareness, expression and self-development. This autumn we examine acting techniques, directing and therapeutic processes and a new writing lab.

Our series of ‘core weekends’ will span 8 weeks, with a completion sharing week in December. Running alongside these will be the Heuristic Quest for Theatre Makers led by Elen Bowman.

The Intensive Workshop series begins in October with System of Selves: An IFS Approach for Storytellers with Mariel Pastor and Lou Platt, and in November will continue with the Body's Wisdom led by Tasha Colbert.

About

Living Pictures is a sector-leading theatre training organisation that focuses on providing creative and professional development for theatre makers less represented in the arts. It was founded in 1999 by Elen and Robbie Bowman to create work and provide training for directors through their unique Directors Acting Series of Workshops.

In 2014, the organisation acquired a piece of land in Wales, which marked a shift in the organisation’s focus towards environmental and community initiatives, retreats alongside professional theatre training and productions.
