Life Acting

This is a Living Pictures series of workshops as part of London Performance Studios (LPS) Associates programme. Over the years our development work has demonstrated the importance of a rigorous approach to exploring psychology in our projects.

Life Acting explores both artistic practice and personal growth and considers how therapeutic strategies can be integrated to enhance awareness, expression and self-development. This autumn we examine acting techniques, directing and therapeutic processes and a new writing lab. Our series of ‘core weekends’ will span 8 weeks with a completion sharing week in December except for our Heuristic Quest which ends in January.

Starting us off in October will be System of Selves: An IFS Approach for Storytellers – by Mariel Pastor (with Lou Platt) and in the middle of November we will have an - Embodied Institute Weekend with Tasha Colbert.

About

Living Pictures is a sector-leading theatre training organisation that focuses on providing creative and professional development for theatre makers less represented in the arts. It was founded in 1999 by Elen and Robbie Bowman to provide training in Active Analysis and Meisner technique for directors and actors. In 2014, the organisation acquired a piece of land in Wales where it is now primarily based, which marked a shift in the organisation’s focus towards environmental and community initiatives, retreats alongside professional theatre training and stage productions.
